As, I promised in an earlier blog, I said I would post Denny playing horseshoes. Every Wednesday afternoon since we have been down here Denny goes to play horseshoes.
This is really a sport. I have played and it's not as easy as the men playing horseshoes make it look.
Each player is placed in a class when they play. The classes are numbered AA, A, B, C. When Denny started to play he was in class B. He has improved, and is now in class A.
Before they start the games AA & A pick a red chip with a number on the chip and class B and C players draw a green chip with the numbers on there chip. The red and green matching chips is your partner to play horseshoe games for the day.
Six or seven games are played, but no games are started after 3PM. There is a schedule that is made out and that is how the players know what teams they play. No makeup day if it rains.
So, far there was one rain day.

Ringers count 3 points and closest horseshoe to the stake counts 1 point. The game is played to 21.
Women or players over the age of 70 get to toss their horseshoes at 30 feet. Anyone younger stand at 40 feet.
The league play every Wednesday. And on Monday and Friday horseshoes is played for fun and practise.
If you look closely to the last picture you can see each player have hooks to get their horseshoes out of the sand. There is no cost to play just lots of fun and a great way to meet more Michiganders.
"Goodbye until later".
