NIAGARA FALLS

This is a late post today as we went to Niagara Falls on Sunday and Monday. It was as cold there as it is here. We went with the Davison Seniors and Grand Blanc Seniors. Our bus was full except for 4 seats.
Sunday morning we were up early to board the bus at 7 AM at the Davison Senior Center. We made on rest stop in Woodstock, Canada on our way to Seneca, New York. The trip going got a little bad. By bad I mean we ran into a white out and I don't know how the bus driver could even see. He kept plugging on and it seems like forever but we soon drove out of it.
After getting through customs we arrived at Seneca Casino about 12:30 PM we headed into the casino. By now the sun was out but temperature was in the teens. We were hungry so Denny and I headed straight to the buffet. You know you have to fill the stomach before any gambling. Just in case we hit it big. It is always way more food than I can eat but everything tasted good. Once our stomachs were full. Denny went to gamble at the card tables and I spent some time at the slot machines. I went to the quarter, penny and nickel slots. They all took my $$. Gambling is really not my favorite past time :(

We spent five hours at Seneca before returning to our bus. After going through customs for the third time we drove around Niagara Falls and viewed their Festival of Lights. I would have liked to get some pictures but my camera just isn't that fancy to get night lights.

Finally at 6:30 we arrived at Sheraton on the Falls. Our bag on already in our room (1796) and it felt good to just crash on the bed. Our stomachs started telling us we needed a bit to eat. Because we had been at the Sheraton before we could find our way to the food courts without going outside. That was nice because it was very, very cold by this time. After eating soup and a sandwich we went back to our room and just relaxed and watched some TV for the rest of the night. We had no problem getting to sleep.

We were up early as they were picking our luggage up at 7 AM. Our itinerary let us know we had to be at our bus at 8:30. We had decided to wait and go to the breakfast buffet at Niagara Falls Casino. Niagara on the Falls was where we would spend the next 4 hours. This bus trip was only 5 minutes away by bus, but if we had to walk, it would be 20 minutes and all up hill.

The buffet was great and we were seated right by the window facing the rainbow falls. The picture is of the rainbow falls. In the background is a tall building. That is Seneca Casino.

We didn't come home winners but it was a nice two day get away.

"Goodbye until later".
