This incident happened to my oldest grandson the other day at our local college. It was between classes and he had his ipod on a clip beside his body. Probably the wrong thing to do but we all learn lessons the hard way. Another boy approached him grabbed the ipod and took off running.
Nathan immediately took off running after him and without any effort caught and tackled the boy to the floor. This kid was messing with the wrong boy. Nathan has played soccer since age 3 and helped his dad coach 7/8th grade boys this Fall for soccer and plays basketball at the church most weeks. While on the floor the kid put his arms over his head and the ipod was in his hand. Nathan immediately took it from him.
At this time a security guard came up and said "break it up". He took both boys to the offices and they were questioned separate. Nathan told his story and could prove the ipod was his. The other kid got suspended for a week.
The best part of the story is Nathan wasn't hurt and I'm glad he stood up for his property. Nathan is a sturdy, tall and physically fit young man. But who knows if his robber might have had a weapon. All ended well and the ipod is in the hands of the rightful owner.
"Goodby until later".

I'm sorry that happened to Nathan; however, I'm even more upset that this young man, who committed a CRIME, is going to be allowed to continue as a student at Mott at all! He should be expelled immediately.
Enjoying reading your posts, Aunt Pat :-) Love, Amy
