My sister Nancy Stearley, a registered nurse and team leader of the Birth Center at Thomas Hospital in Fairhope, recently received the Manager of the Quarter Award.
She made the paper Monday, February 23 and this is what was said.
"The recognition program is designed to help recognize and reward those middle manager-coordinators, supervisors, managers, charge nurses, assistant directors, team leaders - who manage the day-to-day operations of the different departments at the hospital.
Stearley has been with Thomas Hospital since January 2002.
Her co-workers said that she always stays ahead of the game and plans ahead to ensure her staff is well supported. They added that Stearley is ready to tackle whatever difficulties her unit may encounter and is able to keep the unit running smoothly.
A selection committee of seven directors chooses the recipient and employee of Thomas Hospital can nominate a candidate for the award."

That sounds like Aunt Nancy -- way to go. I would want her for my nurse any day.
